This photo was taken at the Iwo Jima Memorial (The United States Marine Corps Memorial) in Arlington, Virginia. The photo was then altered to appear aged to evoke the feeling of the World War II era. The "Hands of our Fathers" here are only a few of the hands that defended and still defend our freedom.
Photography gives me such great joy. It's wonderful to discover the beauty in familiar places and things as well as in some new and different ones. For instance, if you look closely at a dandelion gone to seed, it's really quite beautiful and intricate. A simple cottage shutter and a bench become a composition. A beautiful sunset on the coast of Maine becomes even more inspiring. I hope you will experience joy in viewing my photographs. Thank you so much for visiting and come back soon.
