Artist's Description
This photograph was taken in Historic Clifton, Virginia, a quaint and beautiful little place less than 30 miles outside of Washington, D.C. Many of the houses date back as far as 1771. Clifton was designated as a National Historic District by the U.S. Department of Interior in 1985.
About Jean Goodwin Brooks
Photography gives me such great joy. It's wonderful to discover the beauty in familiar places and things as well as in some new and different ones. For instance, if you look closely at a dandelion gone to seed, it's really quite beautiful and intricate. A simple cottage shutter and a bench become a composition. A beautiful sunset on the coast of Maine becomes even more inspiring. I hope you will experience joy in viewing my photographs. Thank you so much for visiting and come back soon. I will post additional photographs every now and then.

Yellow and blue is my all-time favorite color combination so I would find this porch with its comfy rockers very inviting indeed. Congratulations on your 2nd place win in the recent Resting Area contest.
